Blog post #5

Different words for PLN
A PLN (Personal Learning Network) is a list of a set of tools, and people that you can rely on to help  you. Before this blog, I never heard of PLN's. This shows how much technology had changed since we have been in school. I found the source Personal Learning Networks vey helpful in discovering what PLN's are.

I would create my PLN by using my Twitter and Facebook more effectively. I have already made a twitter aside from my personal one. Pintrest is also another social network that I would use. You could create your own board that you could pin just teacher ideas in. The first additions to my PLN would be a small number of teachers. I would then expand off their tweets and followers. As i become more experenced with teaching my PLN will become larger and more meaningful.

  1. Remember to include links in every blog post, that is a requirement that has mentioned several times and we count off for not having that requirement. Maybe include a link to the PLN you are planning to use. I see you did use one link, but it just took me to the EDM class blog page. Always check your links when you publish a post.

  2. Before given this assignment I to had never heard about PLN's. I agree with you that technology has definitely changed over the years. It's as if now technology is a must in order to further the education of students. Your idea to use social media as a way to increase the strength of your PLN was the same idea that I had. I think that by adding teachers to your PLN you would be well on your way to developing a strong source of knowledge for yourself and others. We as future educators must be able to adapt and go with the flow in a changing landscape.
